Hello! Fish to Fry is an Edinburgh-based band, creating new original songs, telling of sillyness and sentiments, nostalgias and neuroses, and as ever of love and yearning. With singer Lorraine O’Sullivan and accordionist Isabel Lohss, Isla Pitkethly on cello and Arran Sheppard on drums.
We’re playing here this weekend! 3pm on Sunday, unplugged and in the garden (weather permitting). Excited that someone clever has taken over the old Earthy space, which we have always loved. Check them out on facebook.
We’ve been rehearsing loads again and are looking forward to a busy spring and summer! And especially to playing with Isla Pitkethly, our new cellist! (New band photos to follow.) To spill a few secrets, you might spot us at Eden Festival, Kelburn Garden Party, around Leith, the Meadows and elsewhere in the near future…

A long while indeed. So sorry! We’ve been busy expanding our families and what not, but there’s also been some recording, which will be posted here before you know it! Meanwhile, as the evenings are drawing in we are working on our set and thinking up some gigs to play next season… Or possibly even this winter?!
Hills of Galloway – here we come! Are you going to Knockengorroch Festival? And if not, why not? Pack your wellies and your sun cream, because you never know what the weather will bring… It’s always the bestest fun regardless we think. We’ll be there, playing at the Longhouse on Saturday and the Shieling on Sunday. This weekend 23-26 May 2013. Can’t wait! (Photo courtesy of the Knock website.)
It FINALLY seems to be getting warmer and we’re getting into festival mood! To start off, we’ve been invited to play at the VIP part of the “Bongo Lives!” mini festival. Check out their programme this week.
AND THEN we’ll be getting ready to play at Knockengorroch, one of our favourite festivals in the hills of Galloway at the end of June. On the Shieling stage on Sunday evening…!
There’s more in the pipeline. We’ll keep you posted.
Well we’re finally getting out gigging again! We’ll be playing at the fabulous Rally & Broad cabaret in a couple of weeks. And following that – where else do you want to try out new stuff and feel good about the Edinburgh grass roots scene other than THE FOREST? We’ll be at their lovely new café space in Tollcross on a late Sunday afternoon… Come hang out! 15th and 17th March…
This is our new site! We’re still working away on polishing our songs, writing and gigging new ones, recording, making photos etc… Stay tuned in!
