Fish to Fry at No. 42

Fish to Fry has grown organically, with Lorraine and Isi starting out as a duo, drawing on previous musical projects. Working on songs of our own, we like being silly and quirky, a bit sentimental and sometimes dark. We greatly admire and are inspired by musical story tellers such as Tom Waits, the German band Element of Crime, Berthold Brecht, Kurt Weill and Jacques Brel. Amongst others.

Lorraine at the GRV

On vocals, ukulele and ukebanjo, Lorraine O’Sullivan captures audiences with her bluesy voice and musical expressiveness. Previously as front woman of Raise Your Hem, she established herself as musical comedienne through highly original song interpretation. She writes beautifully melodious songs often with an air of melancholy…

Sarah Whiteside joined on cello and luckily moved into our creative Portobello neighbourhood soon after. Classically trained and an accomplished musician, she adds subtle melody, playful bass lines and a third vocal harmony part.
