Fish to Fry at No. 42

Fish to Fry has grown organically, with Lorraine and Isi starting out as a duo, drawing on previous musical projects. Working on songs of our own, we like being silly and quirky, a bit sentimental and sometimes dark. We greatly admire and are inspired by musical story tellers such as Tom Waits, the German band Element of Crime, Berthold Brecht, Kurt Weill and Jacques Brel. Amongst others.

Lorraine at the GRV

On vocals, ukulele and ukebanjo, Lorraine O’Sullivan captures audiences with her bluesy voice and musical expressiveness. Previously as front woman of Raise Your Hem, she established herself as musical comedienne through highly original song interpretation. She writes beautifully melodious songs often with an air of melancholy…

Isla Pitkethly joined on cello in 2017 and is a muso well connected in the Scottish creative scene. Classically trained and a Suzuki piano teacher as well, she adds subtle melody and playful bass lines. She plays with electro-pop band Aino Elina and the RTO.
